GENTLE REFLECTIONS TVB SERIES
The character and actions of Poon Kum Lien seems very similar to the one in the novel, so I would say her depiction in Gentle Reflections is probably the one that stays true to the novel the most. As for Poon Kum Lien , I think Fala has the looks since she is very pretty, but I don’t know about her acting and accent. You currently have javascript disabled. I never felt Irene could act. I did enjoy ‘Gentle Reflections’ though and everyone fit their role really well. Javascript Disabled Detected You currently have javascript disabled. She did have potential when she first broke out I think as a troubled teen type – the ‘fishball mui’ role, where she played one of the bold rebel teens, if I remembber correctly. I’ve forgotten my password.
Especially the Xi Men Hing lol. However, I never got the gist that she was evil to the core. That’s her “signature look”, supposedly because she thinks that her shoulders are her best features. AF needs funding again. However, Irene sighed that its difficult to find a good script because many of the good script writers and directors have already left TVB for Mainland. The animated paintings of the main female characters as they gradually turned to show their faces and smile, are also very beautifully created and considerably modern for the 90s. For example, Ping Yee Kenix and the first wife who were quite conservative generally wore thicker outfits that covered their bodies, while Kum Lien Irene wore outfits that were more thin. When asked if Irene has any interest?

The themesong was sang by Irene Wan, the main actress who played Poon Kum Lienand the song sounds really beautiful and also quite poetic. Posted by Jadedreams at 7: And given the responses that I’ve seen regarding this serie online, it seems that a lot of people also enjoy this serie too. She’s a redlections good singer too.
Jadedreams Central: Gentle Reflections; 恨锁金瓶
For some reason, it was often repeated on cable so when I was younger so I always watch it whenever I see it on. I do believe Xi Men Hing loved her the most out of all his wives, Mo Chong had feelings for her until the day she died, and of course her husband loves her enough to change himself for her. I thought she had married some rich Taiwanese dude and did not need to work anymore.
She was grateful for TVB giving her opportunities in the past, and just as long as there is a good script, she is definitely willing to go back to shoot a series with them no matter how difficult it is. Please re-enable javascript to access full functionality.

Personally, I liked how TVB changed her character so that the audience could see a different perspective within the Xi Men residence. Tavia has the beauty, poise, and elegance that Kenix had. However, Irene sighed that its difficult to find a good script because many of the good script writers and serues have already left TVB for Mainland. Costume-wise, the clothes the actresses wore were all very beautiful and colorful, and yet quite representative of their characters.
He played his part well. After watching her play the ‘sexy vixen’ in series after series, it started to get boring after awhile and I find it funny how she always manages to wear her outfit ‘off shoulder’ in like every single series, whether it’s a modern series or a costume drama Several functions may not work. [TVB-A] Gentle Reflections – 恨鎖金瓶 (1994) [20/20][C]
As for Poon Kum LienI think Fala has the looks since she is very pretty, but I don’t know about her acting and accent. Then again, she may have improved – my comments are based on when Irene Wan was still acting in HK dramas 90s.
Kenix also has beauty along with poise and elegance which makes the character Ping Yee believable when she portrays someone with no motives in the Xi Men household while in reality being the silent, but intelligent and calculative type of women.
I even liked her when she vowed revenge on Xi Men Hing and became his wife. Gallen and Deric were great in Vengeance.

I did enjoy ‘Gentle Reflections’ though and everyone fit their gentke really well. Other than the themesong, I love the beginning of the themevideo.
I think the actress who played Chun Mui did a decent job, but there wasn’t much focus bentle her character. I like how she is more observant and calm which shows how intelligent she is while the other wives were too brash with their plots. The character Chun Mui was also suppose to egntle another concubine who rise to power within the household in the novel, but she was written to be a pure-hearted girl in the TVB serie. AF needs funding again.
She stressed she had few pretty roles, and does not mind playing ugly roles.

Remember me This is not recommended for shared computers. That’s why you see it in all her dramas, movies, pictures. But she’s always pretty much playing the same kind of character.

It was very sweet how he tries to win her heart and also turn into a better person during the same time. Posted 12 April – If she does really go back to TVB, will she request for a fixed time to rest?
I think everyone did. Do you know where I can get the full songs of both the theme and ending theme? I actually hated her character in Gentle Reflections it felt like Kenix was more the star in that series than Irene was and despite how much I loved Deric and Gallen in Vengeance, I wasn’t too fond of Irene actually true, that’s the series that shot her to stardom, but I actually found her character annoying Jin Ping Meiand a comics version: It has a nice flow to the end, considering they started with introduction of each of the main characters and then ending it with all three of them together.
The themesong and themevideo always captivated me to watch. I love her character Ping Yeand I like how Kenix portrayed her. All of the actresses that starred as supposedly supporting roles in those mentioned series were better, in my opinion. It is no wonder she was able to captured the hearts of three men within the series!
