Fewer people still realize that the extremely terrible Neverending Story II movie was actually part of the book. Now I have a daughter who is six years old and she loves fairytales, dragons, princesses and magic.

When I finished it, I was literally sobbing and my entire mind wanted to read more. It is never predictable, and constantly surprised me with its insightfulness. I wish for something, and when I find piveste it’s possible, I want to run away. Return to Book Page.

It’s a very basic telling of the hero’s journey story archetype. More than once I cried and more than once I wanted to talk to them or scold them, above all Bastian. It broke my heart to read all the hardships he was faced with and how he managed to deal with it.

Fantastica was changed to Fantasia for the movie.

No one knew better than Bastian what that meant. At first, it seems that there are no limits imposed; in fact, the empress actually tells Bastian that he should do what he wishes, what he wants.

I feel like I’m very torn on this book because while I did enjoy it and did enjoy listening to it, it was so rough to get through. Basically he is the male version of me. Lists with This Book. Read this to my daughter recently.

A story of accepting that sometimes being who you are is what you need the most. And I am honestly surprised at how much the movie deviated the book. I have watched that movie thousand times actually, probably I have read it multiple times and I was extremely disappointed with the movie adaptation. But Atreju had something Bastian didn’t – full support of sfasrit around him, even povete named Atreju, meaning, son of all.

Even though I knew this formula, I found it suspenseful. But then, I realised how ingenious this particular plot device was and is. I can’t figure out how I got to 33yo and never read this book!

I was utterly absorbed by it. Bastian is a young boy who lives a dreary life being tormented by school bullies. It’s wonderful to be creative, to think of new worlds, new species, new sorts of magic.

Bastian Balthazar Bux at the end of the book is almost totally different from the one at the beginning. Books by Michael Ende.

Catherine I read it to my 6 year old and she loves it. Potrei scrivere pagine su pagine per elogiare questo capolavoroma voglio iniziare dicendo questo romanzo mi ha fatto appassionare alla lettura. The inability to directly replicate the magical feelings that used to be a normal part of our existence as children, yet somehow being aware of them in some odd way now is, in part, I think, why our childhood has the power to affect us so greatly.
